Pelvic Health Physiotherapists play a really important role in the management of pelvic pain. At Bloom, we provide a holistic, integrative treatment approach involving hands on therapy, education and support.

Common pelvic pain conditions that we treat include:
Endometriosis and Adenomyosis
Dyspareunia (pain with sexual intercourse)
Interstitial cystitis or bladder pain syndrome
Vestibulodynia or vulvodynia (increased pain and sensitivity around the vulvar and vagina)

Chronic pelvic pain with no specific pathology or cause
Typical management of pelvic pain conditions involves an in-depth discussion and assessment with your Physiotherapist. Whilst some pelvic pain is unable to be cured, your Physiotherapist will work with you to help in managing your pain and working towards improving your overall quality of life.

Management and treatment will usually involve some degree of pelvic floor muscle training, usually to help relax the muscles and help reduce pain. They will also address any associated bladder and bowel problems you may be suffering and will liaise closely with your medical team (Gynaecologists, General Practitioners, Pain Specialists) to provide a holistic care approach.
